Highlights of our Christmas

Christmas Eve: We decided to go to Christmas Eve mass. We thought it started at 10 o'clock like it has for as long as we can remember. So we show up at 5 minutes to 10 so we can get a seat. We didn't see anybody walking in! We thought "that's weird." So waited outside for a bit, then Zia opened the door of the church a crack and heard singing. The next thing we knew someone auto-started their car from inside the church! So we decided to go back to the car and stake things out for a couple of minutes. Sure enough at 10 we saw people coming out of the church and that was our cue to hit the road. So long story short, we missed church this year!

Christmas Day: We started our annual Christmas tradition at Zia's house. Nadia and her ball-and-chain picked up Nona on there way over and we opened presents. Then we went to Gina and Claudia's house and opened more presents. Gina and Claudia were both so overwhelmed when they opened the GoPro (stay tuned for videos in the near future) that when they opened their XBox Gina couldn't contain herself and started bawling her eyes out with tears of joy. The remainder of the day was filled with JustDance and family boxing matches on the XBox, good food and drinks, and many more surprises!

New Year's Eve: We went out for a family cross country ski, Zia and Zizi rented skis, we grabbed Gina on the way out and we were ready to go. All was going well until Zizi tried to do and hockey stop on his cross country skis and wiped out. Marisa, Nadia and Gina were all laughing our heads off, and there is Zia on the side asking him if he's okay.... that's exactly what Nona would have done, like mother like daughter!

New Year's Day: We all went to Mama C's brothers wife's mothers house to watch fireworks. All was going well until of course one shot off into the crowd (Nad warned us that we should have been wearing safety goggles!), the crowd screamed and Nadia and Gina clung to each other, although I'm not sure how that would have helped the situation had the firework came straight for them. No one ended up hurt and all was well.

This Christmas season was full of cousin bonding time, presents, food and fun times!

From our family to yours, we hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
